Apple Dumplings

Welcome to Fall everyone and the favorite time of year for all which is apple picking. This is a super quick easy recipe and is really good. Top with ice cream or whip cream or just plain eat it like it is.

2 granny smith apples each apple cut and peeled into 8 slices or 16 in total
2 packs Pillsbury crescent rolls in the can cut and separate the triangles.
1 and 1/2 stick butter
1 Cup brown sugar
1 1/2 T ground cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
8 oz sprite.= 1 Cup
spray butter

1. Preheat your oven to 350*f
2. Peel, core and slice your apples make sure you end up with 16 slices set aside
3. In medium sauce pan add all other ingredients except spray butter and sprite. Boil and set aside.
4. Open crescent rolls and 1 by one starting with larger side of the triangle roll up each slice you should end up with 16 in total.
5. Use spray butter and butter lasagna pan or any similar sized pan and place wrapped apples inside. Top them with the butter mixture. Next add the 8 oz of sprite around edges of pan try not to wet the rolls. 
6. Bake for approx. 30 minutes or until rolls are light-medium brown.
Serve with ice cream or whip cream or sprinkle with more cinnamon and sugar. Hope you enjoy!
